Our groups are intentionally small, with a maximum of 12 travelers. This size allows our artisanal vendors to accommodate our groups in their spaces. It offers an excellent opportunity for us to really connect with one another as well. We begin as strangers and end as friends.

Definitely! Lots of our guests travel on their own. It is a great way to travel for many people. You get to us on your own and once you arrive you will enjoy a week with like minded people. Please note that because our pricing is based on double occupancy, solo travelers who prefer a private room will be charged a single supplement.

A moderate level of fitness is recommended. Participants should be comfortable walking up to 2 miles (with breaks) over uneven surfaces and be able to manage stairs without assistance. In city centers, we often explore on foot — both to avoid traffic and to honor our commitment to sustainable travel.

Our itineraries are designed to give you rich, immersive experiences, led by our hosts and expert local guides. Each day typically includes a few hours of free time so you can explore independently, rest, or simply soak in the atmosphere.

Absolutely! If you’d like to arrive early or stay on after your trip ends, we’ll gladly offer recommendations and any advice we can to help to carve out your own experience. The extra nights at our host hotel will be charged directly to you.

Yes. Wine and soft drinks are included during all group lunches and dinners. Any personal beverages or bar tabs at hotels will be at your own expense.

Your initial deposit will confirm the spot(s) in your preferred week. The balance of your program cost will be due 90 days before the tour date. If you need to cancel, you will receive your deposit back (minus 5% for credit card fees) if you cancel 120 days ahead of the trip. There is the option to reschedule in lieu of outright cancellation. We are here to work with you in the event of an unlikely need to cancel.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip investment. Coverage can help in cases of illness, cancellation, or interruption. We suggest our preferred partner, Travel Insurance Services, which offers three plan options for you to choose from.
